Before…….and ……..After
By Dogluva
Pit Bull supporters and other dog lovers took to Blue Buffalo’s Facebook’s page over the past few days, voicing their opinion regarding the placement of an ad on Merritt Clifton’s blog. One by one people told the company that it was clear their message using Merritt’s blog appeared the company was Pro BSL. Didn’t take the Anti Pit Bull community to claim the huge amount of support for the Pit Bulls was retaliation for Aurora keeping the ban in place. YEAH RIGHT! Let’s be perfectly honest here, Aurora Colorado’s ban was nothing new. Although the voting residents spoke to keep the ban in place, that ban doesn’t make a difference to me or my Uncle on the West Coast, or cousin in the South, or my father in the North.
Within two days, Blue Buffalo’s Facebook page had over 400 comments. Sure the Anti Freeze Queen gave her take on things, and a few here and there. In actuality Pro Pit Bull people overruled and let their voices be heard. If you didn’t get a chance to see the BB ad, notice the before and AFTER.
This morning, Merritt’s blog took another turn, sort of in a pickle now. With the removal of yet another ad, Merritt resorted to putting up this:
I guess when you can’t get supporters, you resort to the donation button!
Now Blue Buffalo issued a response on their Facebook page.
That response from Blue Buffalo didn’t satisfy many of their customers. In fact that response has been called “lame”, “offensive”, and downright “BS” from some of the comments that were sent to us. Blue Buffalo is doing great things for homeless animals. HOWEVER, advertising on a blog that promotes BSL and refuses to rehome dangerous dogs, or Pit Bulls is a form of supporting BSL. So what’s the deal? You want to help animals, but only certain animals? I’m with the Pit Bull supporters on this one. You can’t claim to want to help animals, if you’re not helping all the animals. Not every dog in shelters are aggressive. Not every dog in shelters, that are Pit Bull/type dogs are in the shelter because they hurt someone. The fact of the matter is, Blue Buffalo is a company that survives on sales. From the look of the comments, I think the sales will be down.
Aurora has nothing to do with this public display of outrage from Blue Buffalo’s ad, people just don’t like figuring out where a company really stands!
