“They” say laughter is the best medicine. But is there a fine line that should be drawn when you claim to be an advocate? For example take the cartoon posted below. Is the message appropriate especially for victims that have lost limbs in dog attacks? Forgive me if I am wrong, but isn’t that cartoon doing exactly what Anti Pit Bull supporters claim our sides does, “VICTIMIZING THE VICTIMS”? Is this type of humor in the 5 stages of grief for other victims? But the most interesting question I have DO ALL VICTIMS that have lost limb/limbs MATTER?
Keeping in mind that some Anti Pit Bull supporters claim their cause is not just focused on Pit Bulls but rather DANGEROUS DOGS, the cartoon doesn’t justify that argument. The other argument of Anti Pit Bull supporters claim ALL victims matter. Well I beg to differ. For example, Dogsbite.org organization claims to be a “national dog bite victims group” . But are all victims welcome into the group? Are there certain guidelines involved when one is a victim of a Pit Bull attack? What happens if that “victim” still doesn’t hate Pit Bulls, or other dangerous dogs? Does their injuries, or disability not matter? Apparently not, when Dogsbite,org posted making “fun” of a victim promoting a fundraiser for a prosthetic leg.

is what the headline read on this post from Dogsbite.org. That’s right, because this victim doesn’t blame the dog, still loves Pit Bulls, she DOESN’T matter. This article was posted back in November 2013, but what about the newer victims, do they matter. Of course they do! Because they DON’T like Pit Bulls, see the difference. Victim advocacy should read, …..if you love em, we hate you, if you hate em, we love you!
When organizations claim to want to help victims, all victims should matter. It’s time to face the FACTS, all dogs bite, but Dogsbite.org and their supporters don’t care about ALL victims! They only care about the victims that HATE Pit Bulls.
